These pictures were taken during that trip, from a camera she had gifted me. Partly because photography seemed to take my mind away from the impending doom and partly because a part of me was still hopeful she'd live and we'd look back to these pictures and smile together. Soon after, she passed away (24th August, 2010) and I stopped taking pictures since my life had reduced to surviving every single breath. I had kept them in wraps since. Never showed them to anyone.
BACKGROUND Please read this! Mum was getting treated in a city 6 hours away from where she/I, was born and brought up or where we had always lived. We ended up shifting our 'home' to this, other, city. Dad got his job transferred there, and got a house alloted at a beautiful place. Until then, [...]
Back in 2010, when my mother passed away due to cancer, I decided to start posting my poems and pieces online. Barely 5 percent of anything I wrote made it online, but that's still a lot. Read more about my Mom here.. I made a Facebook page, specifically for sharing what I wrote but then changed [...]
Alright, then. It's finally time. Their lives were the merriest and their laughters so loud! Hers was a kingdom all filled with smiles, Unicorns and rainbows, and people so fine. They laughed and celebrated, [...]
The phone rang. "Hi. This is Nancy Smith from The West-Shore Rehab, is this Stacey Jackson?" She smiled. "Is he dead?" There was some silence on the other end, followed by a "Yes." She sipped the remaining coffee away, letting it burn her insides. She laughed so hard her head hit the top of the back of her pine-wood rocking chair as two streams of water poured down her eyes, just like the rain outside.
16-year-old Shahrukh Khan describes how he hid beneath a bench, shivering as "death approached", as his school came under attack.
Behind a smile so wide, She was breaking apart inside, Her feelings had started to shatter, She knew, to no-one she'll ever matter! She was never understood, No body felt what she felt, She hid under a yellow hood, And tried letting go of the broken pieces of glass she held. She sighed and cried, [...]
